We are offering a 3‑year postdoctoral position within the WATERWORKS2014 ERA-NET IMDROFLOOD project. IMDROFLOOD (“Improving Drought and Flood Early Warning, Forecasting and Mitigation using real-time hydro-climatic indicators”) is an international project cofounded by the European Commission and the member countries, and has parters from Spain, Portugal, South Africa, Romania, Moldova and Estonia.
The position will be held at the Pyrenean Institute of Ecology in Zaragoza (Spain), to work in the development and validation of drought indices at the catchment scale and flood modelling in selected study cases in Europe.
Eligibility:
Applicants must hold a PhD degree in Hidrology, Climatology or close disciplines (Geography, Physics, Environmental Sciences, Remote Sensing, etcetera). Precious experience in international research projects and computing skills (R, IDL, MAtlab, C, etcetera) will be an advantage. Applicants are expected to have good oral and written English skills.
